Emotional Support Sessions
An Emotional Support Worker (ESW) is someone who is either neurodivergent themselves, or has a strong familial backdrop of autism/neurodivergence.
Our ESWs are not counsellors, and emotional support sessions are different to counselling sessions. ESWs cannot advise or be prescriptive in any way, in the way that a counsellor might.
Our ESWs support those who are in a moment where they need someone to talk to. They can help you get things off your chest, and allow you to feel heard. They listen with care and may share an experience of their own if helpful to the process.
There is no timeframe on how long you can access emotional support sessions for. It may be that you only need one or two sessions to get through a difficult moment. On the other hand, you may be in a difficult situation which is longer term and requires longer term support. The sessions will be available for as long as you need them.
