Autism/Asperger’s Syndrome Training and Conferences

Training/Talks

We can offer 1-2 hours speaking/training on a number of autism/Asperger’s syndrome related topics with our Educationalist, Kate Pode.

Kate is able to offer all training on the following topics – some as overviews, some in more detail – and training can be tailored to specific needs (e.g. a little bit from two or three topics rather than just one single topic):

  • What is autism – a summary
  • The difference between classic autism, Asperger’s variant autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD)
  • How to determine if you might be on the spectrum
  • Understanding comorbidities of autism – e.g. dyslexia, dyspraxia, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), executive functioning – and how they impact an individual.  This covers domestic, social, medical and educational scenarios
  • Masking
  • Sensory integration
  • What is a melt-down and strategies to help
  • Writing EHCPs
  • How to access support
  • How autism presents in the classroom
  • How to create an autism friendly environment – home, school, medical, social
